Welcome the home of Los Alamitos Glider Training Squadron 41

Our Schweitzer 2-33 on the ramp at Los Alamitos

NO FLY SUNDAY Nov 26 because of Thanksgiving Holidays.

Los Alamitos Glider Training Squadron 41 is a senior squadron of the Civil Air Patrol, a civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force.  We are based at the Joint Forces Training Base Los Alamitos California.  Our focus is on training cadets and seniors how to fly gliders.

Current Meeting Schedule:
2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month at 7 pm.  (Pacific Standard Time)
The next meeting will be at 7 pm on 28 November  2017.

Current Flying Schedule:
We are now flying on Sundays only.  Sundays we meet at 9:00 am and fly from 10:00 am to 4 pm.  Tuesdays during Daylight Savings Time we fly from 4pm until 15 minutes prior to Sunset.
Because gliders operations require visibility (no fog or low clouds) and safety, we stop when we can’t see or in high winds or when there is rain or lighting in the vicinity of the airport.  Check our weather page for the forecast.

Note:  Check out our Flying page to get the latest information.

What to wear:  You must wear some official CAP shirt or uniform.  However you may NOT wear BOOTS.  (You do need covered shoes, no sandals either.)
NO BOOTS IN GLIDERS!

A CAP tee-shirt, jeans and sneakers is fine.  Be sure to bring sunscreen, snacks and head protection.  Be ready to have a good time.
