No Glider Ops – 1 Jan 2017

NO FLY – Squadron 41 will not conduct Glider flight operations at JFTB Los Alamitos on Sunday, 1 January 2017, due to the New Year’s Day Holiday. – NO FLY
The next planned SLI Glider Flight Operations at JFTB Los Alamitos will be Winch Launch Operations on Sunday, 8 January 2017.

Aircraft Status:
GliderN2037T, the Schweizer SGS 2-33A, is out of service for Annual Inspection and repairs.

  1. N2037T has been disassembled and trailered to Security Aviation at HHR for its Annual Inspection.
  2. N2037T estimated return to service date is 8 Jan 2017.

Tow plane N265HP,  the Cessna C-182, is out of service for Annual Inspection and repairs.

Glider Ops – 18 December 2016

Weather permitting; Civil Air Patrol, Los Alamitos Glider Training Squadron 41 will conduct Glider Winch Launch flight operations at JFTB Los Alamitos on Sunday, 18 December 2016.
SQ 41 will host Fullerton Composite SQ 56 Cadet Glider Orientation and SQ 41 Training Flight activities.
Glider preparation will start Sunday morning at 10:00 am PST, on the ramp just south of the CAP offices located at: 3976 Constitution Avenue, Los Alamitos, CA 90720.
Glider flight operations will commence at 11:00 am PST, or as soon as practical thereafter.
The Last flight must be on the ground at 3:45 p.m., 15 minutes before Tower closure at 4:00 p.m.

Note: Glider Flt Ops will be cancelled if lightning strikes, or rain, or winds greater than 20 knots (23 mph), are observed within 10 miles of Los Alamitos JFTB.

We expect this to be the last flying of the year as our glider N2037T will be going off for its annual inspection and both the Christmas and New Years Holidays fall on a Sunday.  So we expect a three week break and hope to be up and flying again staring on the 8th of January 2017.
