Glider Ops – Tuesday 01 August 2017

Weather permitting*; Civil Air Patrol, Los Alamitos Glider Training Squadron 41 will conduct Glider Winch Launch flight operations at JFTB Los Alamitos on Tuesday, 01 August 2017.

Glider preparation will start Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 pm PDT or earlier, on the ramp just south of the CAP offices located at: 3976 Constitution Avenue, Los Alamitos, CA 90720.  Glider Winch Launch flight operations will commence as soon as practical thereafter.

The Last Glider flight of the day must be on the ground by 7:33 pm PDT, or 20 minutes before official sunset.  Official sunset will occur about 7:53 pm PTD on Tuesday, 01 August 2017.

*Weather Permitting: Glider Flight Ops require visibility and safety.  Ops will be cancelled due to low visibility (fog or low clouds); or if winds greater than 20 knots (23 mph) are reported; or if lightning strikes or rain are observed within 10 miles of Los Alamitos JFTB.

Glider Ops – Sunday 30 July 2017

Weather permitting*; Civil Air Patrol, Los Alamitos Glider Training Squadron 41 will conduct Glider Aerowtow Launch flight operations at JFTB Los Alamitos on Sunday, 30 July 2017.

The Flight Operations include the hosting of Fullerton Composite Squadron 56 for Glider Orientation, Form 5 Glider Pilot Evaluations and Squadron 41 Training Flight Activities.

Glider preparation will start Sunday morning at 10:00 am PDT or earlier, on the ramp just south of the CAP offices located at: 3976 Constitution Avenue, Los Alamitos, CA 90720. Glider Winch Launch flight operations will commence as soon as practical thereafter.

The Last Glider flight of the day must be on the ground by 3:45 pm PDT, or 15 minutes before the tower closes.
