Glider Ops – Tuesday 29 August 2017

Weather permitting*; Civil Air Patrol, Los Alamitos Glider Training Squadron 41 will conduct Glider Winch Launch flight operations at JFTB Los Alamitos on Tuesday, 29 August 2017.

Glider preparation will start Tuesday afternoon at 1600 PDT or earlier, on the ramp just south of the CAP offices located at: 3976 Constitution Avenue, Los Alamitos, CA 90720. Glider Winch Launch flight operations will commence as soon as practical thereafter.

The Last Glider flight of the day must be on the ground by 1901 PDT, or 20 minutes before official sunset. Official sunset will occur about 1921 PTD on Tuesday, 29 August 2017.

*Weather Permitting: Glider Flight Ops require visibility and safety.  Ops will be cancelled due to low visibility (fog or low clouds); or if winds greater than 20 knots (23 mph) are reported; or if lightning strikes or rain are observed within 10 miles of Los Alamitos JFTB.

Glider Ops – Sunday 27 August 2017

Weather permitting*; Civil Air Patrol, Los Alamitos Glider Training Squadron 41 will conduct Glider Winch Launch flight operations at JFTB Los Alamitos on Sunday, 27 August 2017.  We will be hosting Fullerton Squadron 56 for Orientation rides.

Glider preparation will start Sunday morning at 1000 PDT or earlier, on the ramp just south of the CAP offices located at: 3976 Constitution Avenue, Los Alamitos, CA 90720. Glider Winch Launch flight operations will commence as soon as practical thereafter.

The Last Glider flight of the day must be on the ground by 1545 PDT, or 15 minutes before the tower closes.

Glider preparation will start Tuesday afternoon at 1600 PDT or earlier, on the ramp just south of the CAP offices located at: 3976 Constitution Avenue, Los Alamitos, CA 90720. Glider Winch Launch flight operations will commence as soon as practical thereafter.

The Last Glider flight of the day must be on the ground by 1710 PDT, or 20 minutes before official sunset. Official sunset will occur about 1730 PTD on Tuesday, 22 August 2017.

The Last Glider flight of the day must be on the ground by 1918 PDT, or 20 minutes before official sunset. Official sunset will occur about 1938 PTD on Tuesday, 15 August 2017.

Glider preparation will start Sunday morning at 10:00 PDT or earlier, on the ramp just south of the CAP offices located at: 3976 Constitution Avenue, Los Alamitos, CA 90720. Glider Winch (possibly Aerotow) Launch flight operations will commence as soon as practical thereafter.

The Last Glider flight of the day must be on the ground by 3:45 PDT, or 15 minutes before the tower closes.

Glider Ops – Saturday 12 August 2017

Weather permitting*; Civil Air Patrol, Los Alamitos Glider Training Squadron 41 will conduct Glider Winch Launch flight operations at JFTB Los Alamitos on Saturday, 12 August 2017.

Glider preparation will start Saturday morning at 11:00 PDT or earlier, on the ramp just south of the CAP offices located at: 3976 Constitution Avenue, Los Alamitos, CA 90720. Glider Winch (possibly Aerotow) Launch flight operations will commence as soon as practical thereafter.  Priority will be for FAA PTS Checkrides.

The Last Glider flight of the day will occur around 18:00 on Saturday, 12 August 2017.

The Last Glider flight of the day must be on the ground by 7:27 pm PDT, or 20 minutes before official sunset. Official sunset will occur about 7:47 pm PTD on Tuesday, 08 August 2017.
