Glider Ops – Sunday 24 September 2017

Weather permitting*; Civil Air Patrol, Los Alamitos Glider Training Squadron 41 will conduct Glider Winch Launch flight operations at JFTB Los Alamitos on Sunday, 24 September 2017.

Glider preparation will start Sunday morning at 1000 PDT or earlier, on the ramp just south of the CAP offices located at: 3976 Constitution Avenue, Los Alamitos, CA 90720. Glider Winch Launch flight operations will commence as soon as practical thereafter.

The Last Glider flight of the day must be on the ground by 1545 PDT, or 15 minutes before the tower closes.

*Weather Permitting: Glider Flight Ops require visibility and safety.  Ops will be cancelled due to low visibility (fog or low clouds); or if winds greater than 20 knots (23 mph) are reported; or if lightning strikes or rain are observed within 10 miles of Los Alamitos JFTB.

Glider Ops – Tuesday 19 September 2017

Weather permitting*; Civil Air Patrol, Los Alamitos Glider Training Squadron 41 will conduct Glider Winch Launch flight operations at JFTB Los Alamitos on Tuesday, 19 September 2017.

Glider preparation will start Tuesday afternoon at 1600 PDT or earlier, on the ramp just south of the CAP offices located at: 3976 Constitution Avenue, Los Alamitos, CA 90720. Glider Winch Launch flight operations will commence as soon as practical thereafter.

The Last Glider flight of the day must be on the ground by 1833 PDT, or 20 minutes before official sunset. Official sunset will occur about 1853 PTD on Tuesday, 19 September 2017.
