Glider Ops – Sunday 29 October 2017

Weather permitting*; Civil Air Patrol, Los Alamitos Glider Training Squadron 41 will conduct Glider Aerotow Launch flight operations at JFTB Los Alamitos on Sunday, 29 October 2017.  We will be hosting Escondido Cadet Squadron 714 for O-Rides.

Glider preparation will start Sunday morning at 10:00 PDT or earlier, on the ramp just south of the CAP offices located at: 3976 Constitution Avenue, Los Alamitos, CA 90720. Glider Winch Launch flight operations will commence as soon as practical thereafter.

The Last Glider flight of the day must be on the ground by 15:45 PDT, or 15 minutes before the tower closes.

*Weather Permitting: Glider Flight Ops require visibility and safety.  Ops will be cancelled due to low visibility (fog or low clouds); or if winds greater than 20 knots (23 mph) are reported; or if lightning strikes or rain are observed within 10 miles of Los Alamitos JFTB.

Glider Ops – Tuesday 24 October 2017

Weather permitting*; Civil Air Patrol, Los Alamitos Glider Training Squadron 41 will conduct Glider Aerotow Launch flight operations at JFTB Los Alamitos on Tuesday, 24 October 2017.  This is the last Tuesday scheduled until Daylight Savings Time starts again March 11, 2018.

Glider preparation will start Tuesday afternoon at 16:00 PDT or earlier, on the ramp just south of the CAP offices located at: 3976 Constitution Avenue, Los Alamitos, CA 90720. Glider Winch Launch flight operations will commence as soon as practical thereafter.

The Last Glider flight of the day must be on the ground by 17:47 PDT, or 20 minutes before official sunset. Official sunset will occur about 18:07 PTD on Tuesday, 24 October 2017.

*Weather Permitting: Glider Flight Ops require visibility and safety.  Ops will be cancelled due to low visibility (fog or low clouds); or if winds greater than 20 knots (23 mph) are reported; or if lightning strikes or rain are observed within 10 miles of Los Alamitos JFTB.
